Snell HD Alchemist Standards Converter
Video-8 media offers Australia's first independent, fully optioned Snell Alchemist Ph.C-HD Standards Converter. Widely regarded as the world's leading HD Frame Rate converter, the Alchemist Ph.C-HD yields converted images of the highest quality and clarity so that even the most dynamic content is delivered with very fine detail, free from artefacts and virtually indistinguishable from the original HD input.

Amberfin iCR
Video-8 media uses Amberfin iCR's. The Amberfin iCR provides the highest possible quality ingest of SD and HD video to a wide variety of broadcast, archive, post production, internet and other video and audio formats. This will also provide automated quality control as well as additional transcoding capabilities.
Videotape Formats
Video-8 media has a comprehensive range of video equipment in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz formats. These facilities allow Video-8 media to satisfy any state-of-the-art tape transfer and encoding needs, as well as handle any material an archive holds in terms of obsolete, legacy or current formats. We can copy between , encode files from or playout to any format.
Video Conversions
Video-8 media has a longstanding reputation as being the choice for standards conversion, aspect ratio conversions and frame rate conversions. We are the first independent facility in Australia to commission the Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Platinum for standards conversion work, as well as various software applications for frame rate conversions and 2-3 pulldown sequences. Handling audio during these conversions is no problem, and we have Dolby E decoding and encoding capability to ensure that Dolby E audio data is preserved during frame rate and standards conversions.

Audio Services
Given the increasing number of audio channels on the newer videotape formats, Video-8 media has developed expertise in handling diverse audio requirements in a duplication and encoding environment. We are experts in audio layback, remapping channels, copying Dolby E data during frame rate conversions and standards conversions, encoding and decoding Dolby data and embedding and de-embedding audio.
Installation of Snell Alchemist Ph.C-HD Standards Converter means real time HD Frame rate conversions of programs with DolbyE encoding is possible, cutting down on costs and time associated with this type of work
